Ochoa’s artistic journey began with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles (1997) followed by a Master of Fine Arts from UC Irvine (2003), grounding him in both experimental studio practice and critical inquiry. These formative experiences instilled in him a fascination for confronting societal issues within aesthetically compelling frameworks. He honed his skills at Parsons School of Design in New York City, broadening his artistic horizons and solidifying his commitment to interdisciplinary approaches. His sculptural explorations are characterized by an uncompromising engagement with raw materials—rebar and concrete—which he manipulates to create monumental forms that visually represent the forces shaping our cities. Ochoa’s installations aren't merely objects; they are dialogues between sculpture, site specificity, and conceptual reflection.
