Galleria Civica di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea Torino
Starting from the Manifesto of the Futurist Reconstruction of the Universe (1915), Depero proposed to playfully reinvent the entire world under the material and spiritual aegis of the car, the new modern idol. Flora becomes artificial, fauna metallic and the depiction of reality also becomes simplified and mechanised. A geometric style emerges, with flat and vivid colours, which is creatively perspectival, unitary and architectural. Depero uses this vivid formal scheme to describe the poetry of life in its daily aspects, in authentic tales of a world in a primordial future age.
