Influenced by philosophical explorations into subjectivity and perception, Aslan’s work consistently seeks to disrupt conventional narratives and invite viewers into contemplative dialogues about experience. His artistic journey began with formal studies at Mersin University of Fine Arts Faculty, specializing in Painting, where he honed foundational skills before embarking on a path dedicated to experimental media and installation art.
Early Influences: Aslan’s formative years were marked by exposure to Turkish cultural heritage and artistic traditions, fostering an appreciation for both formal discipline and conceptual innovation.
He pursued further studies at Mersin University of Fine Arts Faculty, Painting Department, earning a degree in 2005. This academic grounding provided him with the theoretical framework necessary to grapple with profound questions about representation and interpretation—a cornerstone of his artistic vision.
Aslan’s distinctive style emerged from his engagement with video art and installation projects—mediums that allow him to investigate the elusive nature of recollection and its impact on shaping our reality. He utilizes materials like concrete, steel, and textiles to construct immersive environments that provoke reflection on personal histories and broader societal concerns. Recurring motifs include geometric forms and repetitive patterns, reflecting a deliberate effort to distill complex ideas into visual representations accessible yet intellectually stimulating. These elements serve as anchors for contemplation, guiding the viewer’s gaze through layered narratives and challenging preconceived notions about space and time.
