The Artistic Journey of Rune Mields
Born in Münster, Germany, Rune Mields began her professional life with an apprenticeship as a bookseller, a role she held until 1959. Her creative path evolved significantly as she transitioned into working as a fine artist in the late sixties. Throughout her career, her work explored the intricate relationship between numbers and signs, focusing on the concept of international mathematical symbols. This research, which documented findings such as the Hindu goddess Kali, was presented in the book Schwarze Göttinnen. Her multifaceted career saw her receive various honors, including the Kritikerpreis für Bildende Kunst and the Gabriele Münter Preis.
