The Life and Artistic Journey of Fritz Feigler
Born in Düsseldorf, Germany, Fritz Feigler was a painter, graphic artist, and university teacher. By 1911, he had become a master student, and in 1917, he was awarded the Rome Prize. His career saw him associated with the artist group Das Junge Rheinland, and he served as a professor at the State University of Fine Arts in Weimar from 1926 to 1933. In 1943, a bombing raid destroyed most of his paintings and graphic works, leaving only a few drawings, watercolors, and oil studies. His later years were spent in Ambach am Starnberger See, where he continued to paint until his death in 1948. His remaining works are held in various collections, including the Bavarian State Painting Collection.
