Julius Tinzmann was a German cinematographer, painter, and writer. Born in Neukölln, Germany, he was the son of the painter Max Tinzmann. In 1932, he produced oil paintings such as Red Tower and Marktkirche and Roter Turm, both of which were later confiscated during the Nazi era. After a period of focusing on writing and film, he returned to painting following a trip to Greece in 1973.
