Wayne White is an American painter, illustrator, and visual artist whose diverse career spans many creative disciplines. Born in Chattanooga, United States, his professional journey has seen him excel as a puppeteer, set designer, animator, and cartoonist. His work in television and music videos has earned him significant recognition, including two Emmy Awards for his contributions to the set and puppet designs of Pee-wee's Playhouse. Beyond the screen, he has served as an art director for seminal music videos, such as Peter Gabriel's "Big Time" and the Smashing Pumpkins' "Tonight, Tonight."

In Chattanooga, he created Wayne-O-Rama, an installation featuring massive cardboard heads of historical figures and a model of Lookout Mountain. His work often incorporates elements of puppetry, such as a large puppet head of George Jones installed at the Rice Gallery, which features rotating eyes and a snoring sound effect.
