A Life of Military Illustration and Artistry
Charles Morel was a French painter, illustrator, and etcher born in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. A former cavalry captain serving under General Charles-Arthur Maitrot, he transitioned into the world of fine arts as a student of the painter Édouard Detaille.
