Her work embodies the energy and innovation of early 20th-century modern art. Early Life and Career Saunders’ early life remains somewhat obscure, but she emerged as an artist during a period of radical artistic
experimentation in Britain. She studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, a prestigious institution that fostered many leading British artists.
