A Life Between Two Worlds Born in Ottensen, near Hamburg, Wilhelm August Rudolf Lehmann entered the world as the son of the painter Leo Lehmann. His early years were shaped by a lineage of artistry and a Jewish heritage that would follow him through his migrations across Europe.
