A Life in Color and Scenery
Joseph Thierry was a French painter, theatre designer, and scenographer born in Paris. A student of Antoine-Jean Gros at the École des beaux-arts de Paris, he initially focused on genre painting. His debut at the Salon in 1833 featured View of Pont Saint-Michel in Paris, 1780, a work noted for its precision of drawing and vivacity of color.
