Critics often highlighted her ability to capture the delicate life of flowers without lapsing into sentimentality or mere technical fireworks. Whether through her oil paintings or watercolors, her subjects were imbued with a certain lyricism and a fine perception that pierced to the essentials.

Her technical approach often involved a skillful combination of delicate precision in rendering textures and contours with a broad harmony of composition. In her portraits, she was noted for a surety of draftsmanship and a capacity to convey the character of her sitters. Her paintings were described as having an unpretending talent, often achieving a high level of artistic accomplishment through a sensitive eye for color and a notable feeling for arrangement.
