Throughout his career, Bleeker was an active member of the Munich Secession and the Professional Association of Visual Artists (BBK). His dedication to the local art scene was evidenced by his annual participation in the juried Great Munich Art Exhibition at the Haus der Kunst, a commitment he maintained from 1962 until 2011. In 1980, he was honored with the Seerosenpreis for visual arts from the City of Munich.
