The Life and Artistic Journey of Werner Sieloff
Born in Berlin, Germany, Werner Sieloff was a painter and graphic artist. His early life was marked by a diverse education; after initially studying mechanical engineering, he pursued fine arts at the Kunstakademie Königsberg, where he studied painting and graphics under Richard Pfeiffer and Arthur Degner, as well as sculpture under Stanislaus Cauer. Following the rise of the Nazi regime, he faced a painting and exhibition ban in 1937, and his work Parklandschaft was confiscated and destroyed as part of the "Entartete Kunst" action. After serving in the Wehrmacht during the Second World War, he contributed to the reconstruction of artistic life in Berlin.
