early life and education evelyn statsinger, a renowned american artist, was born in brooklyn in 1927. she moved to chicago in the mid-1940s, where she spent the remainder of her life. statsinger earned her bachelor of arts in art education from the school of the art institute of chicago (saic) in 1949, following brief stints at the art students league and the university of toledo. artistic career statsinger's artistic career was marked
