Life and Artistic Path
Born in Chomutov, Czech Republic, Ilja Sainer was a painter, sculptor, illustrator, and animator. After moving to Prague due to health reasons, he attended drawing courses and later studied mathematics and art education at Charles University. His professional career included working as an animator at the Jiří Trnka Studio in Prague Short Film, where he contributed to nearly ninety short films and various film cycles.

His artistic output was characterized by a transition from realistic painting to more radical expressions involving assemblage and spontaneous painting. His work has been exhibited in various galleries and museums, and a permanent exhibition of his work is located in the Astronomical Tower of the Regional Museum in Chomutov.
