He began his formal training as a sculptor under François Girardon, a leading figure of French Baroque sculpture. Frémin further honed his skills studying with Antoine Coysevox, another prominent sculptor known for hi
s realistic portraiture and decorative works. In 1694, he achieved a significant milestone by winning the prestigious Prix de Rome for sculpture.
