As for the whole-figure sculpture, the model through which Crocetti executed this head has an evident geometric tendency, as already observed by Fortunato Bellonzi: the abstract form and the almost total cancellation of the expression are rare features in the artist’s catalogue and in the few works in which this way of conceiving the form can be seen, the stylistic research focuses on the balance of the masses, the elegant posture of the figurative subject and the effect of light in the alternation between concave and convex volumes (in this regard note the difference between the pronounced cheekbones and the concavity of the eyes.
