Frederick received his education at Wellington Road Academy, which laid the foundation for his future artistic endeavors. Goodall’s artistic journey commenced with a remarkable commission for Isambard Brunel, involving six watercolor paintings of the Rotherhithe Tunnel. His inaugural oil painting garnered a Society of Arts silver medal—a testament to his burgeoning skill and artistic vision. He established a home at Grim's Dyke, Harrow Weald, where he entertained prominent figures like Prince Edward VII—a symbol of Victorian social prestige and patronage.
