Landscape
Standing alongside Ahn Jung-sik, Jo Seok-jin was one of the two greatest master painters of the enlightenment period, and a professor at Seohwa Misulhoe. This painting has a close distance view, middle distance view, and a far distance view; which creates of three levels composition. The mountains and rocks are depicted in a gentle and calm manner of Pimajun, or the hemp-fiber strokes, portraying the figure of a person in a pavilion in the style of Namjong Literati Painting. The strong brush strokes of the tree branches represent the chilliness and lonely mood of autumn.
