Two-piece dress in violet cotton voile. A: Fitted blouse, tucked into skirt at natural waist; high banded collar with single button, sheer yoke with sweetheart neckline; 3/4-length loose sleeves, banded cuffs slightly gathered by elastic at wrist; crossover center front (proper right to left) with two button closure at proper left front hip; self lining from bust to hem. B: Accordion-pleated full skirt; mid-calf length; wide waistband and hem; center back hook-and-eye closure; attached slip. Labels, A and B: Valentina. Made for and worn by Katharine Cornell.
