Michele Cascella (1892-1989) stands as a prominent figure in Italian art history, celebrated primarily for his evocative oil paintings and watercolors that captured the spirit of rural Abruzzo—a region deeply rooted in tradition and natural beauty. Born in Ortona, a seaside town nestled along Italy’s Adriatic coast, Cascella's artistic journey began under the tutelage of his father, Basilio Cascella – himself a prolific artist, engraver, ceramist, lithographer, and illustrator – establishing a familial lineage dedicated to visual expression.
