Ferdinand Verbiest
A Scholar of the Heavens and Earth Ferdinand Verbiest was not a visual artist in the traditional sense, but rather a brilliant Flemish Jesuit missionary, mathematician, and astronomer whose work bridged the intellectual worlds of Europe and the Qing dynasty.
