A Life Rooted in Kyoto Born in Kyoto, Japan, Suzuki Shōnen grew up within the walls of a long-standing artistic lineage. His father, Suzuki Hyakunen, had established a studio that carried the weight of tradition from the late Edo period. Shōnen did not merely inherit a name; he inherited a way of seeing.
