Early Life and Education Born: Bangkok, Thailand (1946) Died: 2021 Ithipol Thangchalok was a prominent Thai artist recognized for his contributions to fine arts, visual arts, and applied arts. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Bangkok (1963-1965) before attending Silpakorn University, where he earned a B.F.A. in Graphic Art (1966-1970). His education continued with an M.F.A. in Painting from the University of Washingto
n, Seattle (1973-1975), supported by a Thai Government Scholarship. He received further training and exposure to abstract art through Chalood Nimsamer, who had returned from the Pratt Graphic Center in New York.
