The Life and Work of Lebelle
Lebelle, also known as Jean François Lebelle, was a French painter born in 1768. Throughout his life, he remained active in the art of his homeland until his death in Paris on February 3, 1851.
His artistic legacy is represented in our collection by a notable work from 1818 titled The Palais des Tuileries, seen from the gardens, current 1st arrondissement. This piece is held within the Carnavalet Museum, Paris.
