Farideh Lashai, a name synonymous with the evolution of Iranian contemporary art, began her journey in the lush landscapes of Rasht, Iran, in 1944. Her path would soon lead her far beyond the borders of her homeland, taking her to the heart of Europe. It was at the prestigious Austria Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna that Lashai refined her mastery of decorative arts, a period of study that instilled in her a profound respect for classical technique. This European education provided the technical scaffolding upon which she would later build her unique, abstract language, blending the rigorous traditions of the West with the soulful essence of her Persian roots.A Visionary Approach to Nature and Abstraction
Lashai’s artistic philosophy was never about the mere imitation of the physical world; instead, she sought to capture its very soul.
