Johannes Albert Neuhuys stands as a luminous figure in the history of Dutch painting, recognized as one of the most celebrated practitioners of the Laren School. Born in Utrecht, his artistic journey began with formal training at the Municipal Drawing School in Utrecht between 1858 and 1860. Following a brief period working for a lithographer, Neuhuys turned his full devotion toward the canvas. His early academic pursuits took him to the Antwerp Academy from 1868 to 1872, where a royal stipend allowed him to refine his technical prowess. During these formative years in Antwerp, he developed a profound fascination with interior scenes, specifically mastering the delicate play of light upon the sheen of satin fabrics, drawing inspiration from the legendary seventeenth-century master Pieter de Hooch.
As his career progressed, Neuhuys moved through the great artistic hubs of the Netherlands, finding himself at the heart of a vibrant creative community. His time in Amsterdam brought him into the company of luminaries such as Jozef Israëls and Anton Mauve, while his move to The Hague placed him among the influential Hague School painters. It was during this period that his technique underwent a significant evolution; the meticulous, detailed manner of his youth gradually gave way to a much looser, more expressive stroke. This shift, influenced by the color palettes of artists like Jacob Maris, allowed his watercolors to achieve a signature sparkling transparency and a masterful command of light.
The true essence of Neuhuys's contribution to art lies in his role as a founder of the Laren School. Driven by the suggestion of Jozef Israëls to seek out more picturesque subjects, Neuhuys moved to Laren in 1883. This transition marked a profound thematic shift in his work, as he turned his gaze toward the quiet, dignified lives of the rural working class. He became a chronicler of the soul of the countryside, finding deep inspiration in the farmers and weavers who inhabited the region. Voor kunstwerken of reproducties die aan één zijde groter zijn dan 105 cm (ongeveer 41 inch), wordt de lijst als een losse set verzonden. Deze methode garandeert een veilige levering en voorkomt schade tijdens het transport.
Professionele montage vereist - dit is geen doe-het-zelfproduct.
De set moet worden gemonteerd en het canvas moet worden gespannen door een ervaren professionele lijstenmaker, met gebruik van houtlijm (niet inbegrepen), een doekspanter en klemmen om de sponningen recht te houden terwijl de lijm droogt. Onjuiste montage of een ongelijkmatige spanning op het canvas kan het kunstwerk permanent beschadigen en wordt niet gedekt door onze garantie.
Alle massief houten onderdelen zijn inbegrepen, nauwkeurig op maat gesneden voor montage.
Te monteren met de meegeleverde schroeven, plus houtlijm voor de hoekverbindingen, die niet wordt meegeleverd en door uw lijstenmaker moet worden aangeschaft.
Professioneel gereedschap is vereist en niet inbegrepen: een spanner voor canvas en klemmen om de latten recht te houden terwijl de lijm droogt.
Belangrijk:
De hoekverbindingen vereisen houtlijm, de latten moeten met lijmklemmen worden vastgehouden tot de lijm volledig is opgedroogd, en het spannen van het canvas op het samengestelde frame vereist een doekspanter. Geen van deze artikelen is inbegrepen in de set. Wij adviseren u om een ervaren professionele lijstenmaker te raadplegen voordat u deze maat bestelt.
