Packwood, Jr, (TSgt, USMC) (1928 – present) (95 words)Norval “Gene” Packwood attended art classes at George William College, Northwestern University, and the Art Institute of Chicago. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in June 1948 and was assigned to the Marine Corps Gazette in Quantico. In December 1950 and January 1951, he was sent to Korea to document the ongoing war. In 1954, he transferred to the Marine Corps Volunteer Reserve. Packwood worked as a commercial artist, art director for advertising agencies, ran his own company (Design Direction), and worked for various newspapers after he left active duty. He currently lives in Florida.
