These institutions hold works that reflect his ongoing interest in the friction between different cultures and the political shifts of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.

      His career has been marked by several notable honors, including the Academy Award for Visual Arts from the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 1997 and the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Biennial Award.
