Basilio Cascella was born on October 1, 1860, in Pescara, Italy, to Francesco Paolo Cascella and Marianna Siciliano. In April 1875, Cascella moved to Rome, securing an apprenticeship in lithography at Luigi Salomone’s printing plant.
