John Wotten Ehninger (1820 – Living) was a prolific American painter and etcher whose artistic journey spanned Europe and New York City, culminating in a settled life in Saratoga Springs. This initial foray into European art fostered his understanding of classical techniques and broadened his visual vocabulary. Subsequent studies at Düsseldorf and other artistic centers honed his skills further, establishing him as a respected figure within the burgeoning Victorian art scene.
