The life of José Gurvich was a profound journey across continents and identities, woven from the threads of Lithuanian roots and Uruguayan belonging. Born in Lithuania as Zusmanas Gurvicius, his early years were marked by the movement of his family, who emigrated to Uruguay in the early 1930s to escape religious persecution.
