Born in Sydney, Australia, his early life was steeped in a unique atmosphere of spectacle and performance; as the son of the boxing tent impresario James Michael "Jimmy" Sharman Jr., he grew up amidst the
vibrant, traveling world of the circus and vaudeville. This formative exposure to the magic of the showgrounds provided a foundational understanding of audience engagement and theatricality that would later define his professional career.
