The Life and Art of Will Ashton Born in Clifton, United Kingdom, Will Ashton was a prolific Australian Impressionist painter. He received his early training from his father, James Ashton, and later studied at the Olsson-Talmage studios in London and the Académie Julian in Paris. His connection to France was profound, particularly his fascination with the Seine, its bridges, and the buildings lining its banks. During his career, he trave
led through Britain, Europe, and Egypt, often in the company of Lionel Lindsay or Charles Bryant. His works were exhibited in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and Adelaide, and several of his paintings were accepted by the Royal Academy of Arts in London and the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français.
