hüseyin zekai pasha, a renowned ottoman turkish painter, was born in üsküdar, turkey in 1860. he completed his primary education before entering the kuleli military high school and later the turkish military academy. this academic foundation would later influence his artistic style.military career and artistic beginnings
pasha became a lieutenant in 1883 and was appointed an aide to şeker ahmed pasha. following ahmed pasha's death, he succeeded to his position as a court painter and chamberlain. this marked the beginning of his artistic career, which would soon flourish.artistic contributions
pasha's work primarily focused on landscapes, architectural scenes, and still-lifes. his style, initially characterized by photographic realism, later evolved to incorporate impressionistic strokes and colors. notably, he helped organize the nation's first official military museum in the hagia irene in 1908.notable artworks and exhibitions
