- Began playing guitar at age 12, influenced by his uncle who taught him blues riffs.
- Started busking in Newquay and Truro, Cornwall, honing his skills as a performer.
- Early musical influences included Al Green, Otis Redding, Cat Stevens, and The Kinks.
